FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How do I register?
A: You can register your child online or during a walk-up registration day. However, every child that plays must go through the N.F.L.'s registration process.

Q: What are the age groups?
A: (5-6), (7-8), (9-11), Middle School and High School *Classifications in the age groups are subject change based upon the number of registrations in each age group. Again, all registered players will be placed on a team.

Q: How are individual players placed on teams?
A: The NIFFL will hold an NFL Flag Football Combine to evaluate each participant.  The players are then placed in the NIFFL Draft.  The draft decides where a child plays.

Q: Are refunds available?
A: No. Refunds are not given; insurance and charter fees have to be paid directly after registration. Insurance companies or the NFL do not give refunds to the local league.

Q: How many players are on a team?
A: Maximum is 8; however we reserve the right to place an individual player on any team if needed.

Q: How often do teams practice and is it mandatory?
A: First, practices are encouraged and recommended but not mandatory. Players will meet, at the most twice a week for practice (90 minutes) and play one game per week. Practice times and locations are scheduled by the team coach and may be any weekday. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons.  Coaches determine playing time for the players.  We encourage equal and fair playing time for all participants

Q: Do all players need a mouth pieces?
A: Yes...all players are required to have a mouthpiece before stepping on the field.

Q: How much playing time can my child expect?
A: Our NFL Youth program promotes participation, fun and fundamentals. Coaches are encouraged to fairly allocate playing time equally amongst all players on the team.

Q: What do I get for my registration fee?
A: Schedule of 6 games, playoffs (single elimination), team jersey and flags. Trained and certified coaches, Interactive website, organized administration, pre-season and post season activities and a lot of FUN for you and your child.

Q: What types of Awards are given?
A: Each player will receive an NIFFL/NFL flag (Certificate of Participation) and a league medal Each division winner will also receive championship trophy and T-Shirts.

Q: Will there be any games on holiday weekends?
A: We do not play on Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday.  We play Sunday including memorial day weekend we will play.
